Giving with Gratitude & Faith

Christian stewardship begins with gratitude for all God has given us, especially the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. At St. Paul Lutheran Church, giving is an expression of faith and thanksgiving—a response to God’s generosity and an opportunity to support His work through the ministries of our church.

As we consider our tithes and offerings, we encourage each person and family to prayerfully reflect on God’s blessings and how He is calling them to respond. Every gift, regardless of size, helps St. Paul share the Gospel, strengthen families, serve our neighbors, and continue Christ-centered ministry throughout McAllen, TX and the Rio Grande Valley.

Why We Give

We give not simply to meet the needs of the church, but as an act of worship, gratitude, and faithful stewardship. Everything we have is a gift from God, and our generosity reflects our trust in Him and our desire to participate in His work. Through our collective gifts, St. Paul is able to proclaim the Gospel, provide Christian education, care for people in need, and share the love of Jesus with our community.

Tithing & Giving Faithfully

Throughout Scripture, the tithe (giving) 10% of what God has provided is presented as a biblical pattern of intentional and faithful giving. Tithing can serve as a meaningful starting point and spiritual discipline that reminds us that everything we have ultimately belongs to God.

At the same time, Christian giving is not meant to be motivated by guilt or obligation. Scripture encourages us to give willingly, cheerfully, and according to what God has entrusted to us. For some, giving 10% may be possible today; for others, reaching that level may be a goal they prayerfully work toward over time.

We encourage you to begin where you are, give faithfully as you are able, and prayerfully consider how God may be leading you to grow in generosity. Whether your gift is large or small, every offering given in faith and gratitude supports the mission and ministry God has entrusted to St. Paul.
